Case Presentation: Macular Dystrophy - Loss of Central Vision

Patient presents with complaint of gradual decrease in vision at distance and near in both eyes (even when wearing glasses). She is 43 year old healthy female who has this similar condition in both eyes called Macular Dystrophy. Upon further discussion, patient mentioned her sister and father had similar complaints. The macula of the eye is found near the center of the retina and is responsible for clear sharp, central vision. Macular Dystophy is a rare and genetic eye condition that leads to vision loss.
